Reimagining a classic
Book Design
Project: Rethinking an existing book cover for The Jew in the Lotus

Challenge:
To convey the dialogue of the convergence of Buddhist and Jewish thought.

Solution:
This design takes two very known iconic symbols of faith to create an immediate idea of what the book is about. By showing the Buddha sitting not on a lotus as he would normally be seen meditating, but a bagel, a recognized food from the Jewish culture, and putting it on a white background to convey enlightenment, this direction is vastly different from previous covers where the focus was more on one faith than then the other.
