Project:Identity design for a fine dinning Kosher restaurant.
Challenge: Manna Kosher is a new restaurant that was looking to tap into a new market: Fine Dinning that was also Kosher. The partners came to me looking for a new way to present Kosher food that was not only more contemporary than most Kosher restaurants, but to appeal to those that also wanted a fine dinning experience.
Solution: After doing a lot of market research, as well as looking into the origins of the name, I learned that Manna literally means food from Heaven. By extension “manna” has been used to refer to any divine or spiritual nourishment. The leaf hovering on top refers to Manna being from heaven. When not used reversed out in white, the color palette includes greens and browns, taken from nature itself and a nod to freshness. Type used was in all caps, but treated with different colors to emphasize the word Manna while not downplaying the word Kosher. The tag line, which has double meaning in reference to food from heaven as well as taking it up a notch with competitors is key to the messaging and is included on all materials.
