A need for speed

A need for speed

150 150 Susan Fireside

For years I have been passing by this sign on 41. It’s for a Hibachi Grill. I think it’s called New Economical. Or maybe it’s called Asian Gourmet. Or maybe it’s called Hibachi Grill and Buffet. I am not really sure. All I do know is that there are 7 different type faces used. That’s about 5 to many. I’m not going to even touch the color palette. That’s for another day.

As a creative, I personally strive to make the complicated uncomplicated. I have a need for order. Clarity. That doesn’t speak to a specific design aesthetic, more to wanting the message understood; for signage, billboards, and everything that we see at lightning speed, which includes everything today, as our attention spans seem to be getting smaller. It’s even more important to make sure that people know who you are and what you are. In seconds. Because let’s face it, on the information superhighway, or just the regular highway, everyone feels the need to speed.
